Carmaker Nissan launched its integrated vehicle platform, called NissanConnect, in India on Thursday to provide users with information as well as communication features while on the go. Ltd., of Japan, made its entry into the connected auto segment by introducing NissanConnect, an integrated information and communication platform, developed by Renault Nissan Technology Business Centre. NissanConnect offers over 50+ Connected Car features alongside a course of three years free subscription as well as one year of Nissan warranty program which will be fired up when the user will activate the platform. "Initially, we will be offering the Intelligent mobility in three of our models from mid-to-high end segment". The features are accessible via a smartphone application which is available on Android, iOS and Windows platforms for Nissan customers.

"All new cars rolling out from the factory-Micra, Sunny and Terrano-will be fitted with the new TCU system with an inbuilt SIM for every vehicle and an in-house dedicated server", Nissan India said in a statement. As confirmed by the spokesperson of Nissan, the integrated software platform is specifically developed keeping the Indian drivers in mind.

NissanConnect apart from providing information and communication features, also helps users stay connected with their family and friends through the vehicle. NissanConnect is an app that connects with the auto via a telematics control unit (TCU)-an embedded system that controls tracking of the vehicle.
