Al-Qaeda Kashmir chief Zakir Musa is reportedly remained trapped in a village in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district after the security forces on Friday cordoned off the area to flush out the terrorist. Musa was believed to have gone into hiding after the security forces closed in on him.
According to reports, people took to streets to stage protests as the operation was launched. Musa is now trapped in the village in the Tral area, India Today reported. The security forces however, had cordoned off four villages including Peer Mohalla, Shah Mohalla, Daggarpora and Noorpora villages to prevent the exit of the militants trapped in Noorpora village.
Al-Qaeda had announced Zakir Musa as head of its affiliate group called "Ansar Ghazwatul Hind" group in Kashmir. The Indian armed forces had to reportedly resort to teargas shelling to disperse the protesters because they started pelting stones on the army.

Musa is also the first militant commander who claims "the separatist movement in Kashmir is for establishment of an Islamic state and not a political struggle". Despite clashes, the search operation continued in the area.But the clashes ceased after some time and stone pelters dispersed without further disturbing the anti-terror forces, the police sources said.
Meanwhile, clashes also erupted in Tral area of Nowdal and Batgund after Friday prayers.
