"League of Legends" (pic) and "Dota 2" have dominated recent PC gaming revenues, says DFC.
The reason Dota 1v1 is considered a complex game is because the players must learn to plan, attack, trick, and deceive their opponents. It had announced putting its AI against the top human competitors.
Yesterday, during The International, Valve's yearly Dota 2 tournament, a bot created by Elon Musk-backed startup OpenAI defeated some of the game's best players. But a short blog post today describes a technique called "self-play" in which the agent started from scratch with no knowledge and was trained using supervised learning over a two-week period, repeatedly playing against itself.Читайте также: Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch tipped by FCC entry
As per OpenAI's statement, this is a step towards building AI systems which accomplish well-defined goals in messy, complicated situations involving real humans. In the first game he was able to defeat the enemy within 10 minutes.
Dota is a great testbed for artificial intelligence. After the AI quickly got the first kill in the second round, the human player gave up and forfeited the rest of the match.
The OpenAI team now hope to build up a team of AI bots to take on the very best DOTA 2 teams in traditional 5v5 matches by next year. "The correlation between player skill and actions-per-minute is not strong, and in fact, our AI's actions-per-minute are comparable to that of an average human player". In the meantime, the company said it will soon let anybody play against the bot.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
