Vikas Barala and Ashish Kumar were sent to judicial custody till August 25.
Police arrested the duo after examining the CCTV footage of the incident, saying that they have sufficient evidence against the accused people.
Amid tight police security, both were presented before the court of duty magistrate Gaurav Dutta. The counsel of the accused, Surya Prakash, claims that his clients did not stalk Varika leave aside an allegations of attempted abduction. However, based on the public prosecutor's plea, the court granted two-day police custody of the accused on grounds that they were needed to reconstruct the crime scene and establishing motive behind the crime.
The development comes after the police earlier released a video footage showing the one of the accused (Ashish) buying alcohol before chasing Varnika Kundu's auto on the night of August 4.
The duo were arrested on August 9 in connection with stalking of bureaucrat's daughter Varnika Kundu. Vikas is the son of Haryana state BJP chief Subhash Barala.
