Micromax's Thin-Bezel Display Smartphone Confirmed to Launch on August 22

Now, it seems that Infinity Display will be in more people's reach, but it's from a company you least expect to be seen doing that - Micromax.

It is also expected that Micromax's new Canvas Infinity series will take on the Xiaomi's Redmi lineup, and will stand out from the rivals with the unusual display.

According to India Today, the Canvas Infinity will be placed in the sub-Rs. Micromax's own Canvas range of products was launched as well such as the Micromax Canvas 2 with one-year Airtel offer and unbreakable screen. All the specifications not yet revealed. Recently, LG launched its Q6 smartphone with FullVision Display in India at Rs. 14,990.

One thing that is for sure is that this new smartphone will relatively be affordable than the Galaxy S8 or the LG G6. However, another report cited that the smartphone will feature mid-range Snapdragon 600 series chipset, whose details are unknown at the moment.

The teaser image sent by the domestic handset maker confirms that the new Micromax Infinity series will sport a display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The biggest highlight of the LG Q6 is its 5.5-inch FullVision display that sports taller-than-usual aspect ratio of 18:9 and has curved edges. We'll have to wait and watch if Canvas Infinity series turns out out to be a hit for Micromax. It has a rear camera of 16 Mega Pixels.

And if that has to be believed, then the Indian tech giant will be the first manufacturer to design a smartphone with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The photo even shows the smartphone with curved edges, which is an incredible feat for a company like Micromax to achieve considering its budget-friendly target audience. The phone is also expected to come loaded with some good camera sensors.
