The board had originally given as many as 10 players, including seven centrally contracted cricketers, permission to play the entire Caribbean Premier League - which began on August 4 and runs until September 9.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has ordered centrally contracted and other players busy in cricketing assignments overseas to return to the country to warm up for the ICC World XI series in September.

As part of the revival of global cricket in Pakistan, the PCB is also planning to host a Twenty20 series against a World XI in Lahore.

Pakistan are due to play a two-Test, three one-day and two Twenty20 match series with Sri Lanka in September-October, which will likely be held in the United Arab Emirates - Pakistan's neutral venue for its home series since 2009.
