Alan Shearer reacts on Twitter to Tottenham and Manchester United Rose-Shaw swap suggestions

Manchester United 'love' Luke Shaw and he will not leave this summer, insists defender's agent

The England worldwide has been in and out of the United squad due to constant injury woes, and has since fallen down Jose Mourinho's pecking order. The former Southampton defender made just 19 appearances in all competitions last campaign, and only eight the season before.

Shaw is now sidelined with an injury but has returned to first team training after working his rehabilitation separately on the pre-seaosn tour.

The United manager is thought to be pursuing another left-back, with Danny Rose one of the names mentioned.

The Sun report Mourinho would be open to letting Shaw join Tottenham if it meant he could sign Rose.

Manchester United and Tottenham have been linked with a left-back swap.

They say the United boss is frustrated with Shaw's attitude and he could be used in a swap deal to land Rose.

'Luke Shaw is going to be one of the best left-backs in the world, ' Jonathan Barnett told IBTimes.

United have spent £145million this summer on Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic but Mourinho remains keen to strengthen his squad.

Though the 22-year-old is expected to stay in Manchester, a move to North London would only benefit him, as it would offer him significant game-time which was not a luxury under Mourinho.
