Falk's 6 TDs carry No. 21 Washington State past Oregon State

Luton, who had appeared to be knocked unconscious, gave a thumbs-up as he left the field. That's a very hard spot for us to be in, but it's the most hard spot for Jake to be in. Falk and the Cougars should have little trouble against an Oregon State defense that ranks last in the Pac-12 in several categories and has not recorded a sack through three games.

The Beavers have surrendered 483.7 yards of offense this season, and opponents have gained 6.31 yards per play, which ranked No. 116 and No. 111 in the nation, respectively.

Cougars backup quarterback Tyler Hilinski threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Boise State, but senior Luke Falk will get the start Saturday and look to continue his dominance over the Beavers.

"He looked very sharp", coach Mike Leach said. Johnson-Mack added nine catches for 79 yards - both career highs - and two scores. I hope they're not listening to their press clippings.

The Beavers have lost 14 consecutive road games dating to 2014.

Falk answered and set another Washington State record on a 57-yard catch-and-run for Martin Jr.'s third touchdown, pushing the lead to 35-16 with 4:19 left in the quarter. Half of Falk's first-half touchdown passes came by way of vertical routes. Jake Luton struggled again while Ryan Nall did Ryan Nall things rushing for 118 yards at 7.9 yards per rush and two touchdowns.

The Cougs dramatically elevated their play in the second quarter, almost tripling their production from the first.

Martin and Johnson-Mack were the beneficiaries of a balanced first-half passing attack - and one big miscue - as the Cougars took a 28-9 lead into the locker room.

In the third, Nall scored on a 45-yard run to cut the deficit to 28-16.

Oregon State came into Saturday's Pac-12 opener with an already-porous defense, and a banged-up secondary didn't help matters. A week after indecision and injury, Luke Falk went 37 of 49 passing for 396 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions. Andersen said he felt "helpless" when Luton was carted off. "At the end of the day, you want to make sure he's OK, and we got good word that he's gonna be all right". RB Jamal Morrow has earned top billing among WSU's three productive running backs.
