A Pakistani officials told the media that the incident occurred in Bajaur Agency's Loye Mamond area.

Five security personnel were killed after a remote-controlled bomb went off at a roadside at Pakistan's northwestern tribal region sharing borders with Afghanistan on Sunday.

Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the Trump administration's "militaristic approach" in Afghanistan represents a failed policy and talks with the Taliban should be held to bring peace to the war-torn country.

The explosive device, which was detonated by a remote control, hit the vehicle transporting the victims and wounded another official.
