The Blu-ray is packed with interviews, documentaries, commentaries, and even some new history from the world of Westeros.

Now that season 7 has staged its finale, and the dragon (Daenerys Targaryen) and the wolf (Jon Snow) are fighting out of the same corner, HBO has posted details on Game of Thrones' upcoming Blu-ray launch.

The Game of Thrones season 7 DVD and Blu-ray will be available for purchase on December 12.

Anyways, while we all wait for the beginning of the end, the good folks at Game Of Thrones have put together a 45-minute animated story, detailing the thousands of years of history that made and shaped Westeros as we know and love it today.

The Animated History of the Seven Kingdoms continues the tradition of expanding the vast mythology of George R.R. Martin's world on the Game of Thrones box sets. Cast members Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Pilou Asbaek (Euron Greyjoy), Conleth Hill (Varys), Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger), and Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen) team up to narrate Game of Thrones: Conquest & Rebellion, an animated telling of Aegon Targaryen's attempts to conquer the Seven Kingdoms, written by show writer Dave Hill.

Audio Commentaries- Commentaries on every episode with cast and crew including David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Jacob Anderson, Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, and more. The Digital Download version contains the exclusive featurette "Creating the North and Beyond" which looks at the battle contained in episode 6 of season 7. In King's Landing, Cersei Lannister has seized the Iron Throne by incinerating the High Sparrow, his followers and her rivals in the Sept of Baelor. Cast members Aidan Gillen and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau are among the cast members who provide narration in the segment.
