As of 11 p.m. Friday, the storm's maximum sustained winds were at 125 miles an hour, making it a still unsafe Category 3 hurricane. That puts the storm too close for comfort, if squashed closer to the coast, those in eastern portions of North Carolina could be dealing with wind and rain by midweek.

With a high of 93 degrees, Indianapolis tied the record high for today's date.

Maria remains a CAT 3 hurricane in the Atlantic and is headed north of the Bahamas with impacts being felt in the Turks and Caicos Islands. By that time Maria will be passing safely between the East Coast of the United States and Bermuda.

As highs warm into the 80s over the next few days in New Hampshire, all eyes will be on the track of Hurricane Maria, which moved through the Caribbean this week.

Forecasters think Maria will be weakened by wind shear and cold water stirred up by former Hurricane Jose earlier this week. Maria will now move east of the Bahamas and stay well east of Jacksonville late Sunday into Monday.

Man Utd and Man City title challenges analysed on The Debate Live
The Premier League says there are inaccuracies in the report, and adds that it will publish its own data in the coming weeks. I think the team that finishes above United will win the Premier League , and I think that team will be City.

I expect afternoon high temperatures to push into the lower 80s before overnight low temperatures struggle to dip below the upper 60s.

And now the what ifs: The forecast track for the storm has shifted westward as of Saturday morning and could shift even more to the west, according to forecasters. We are cautiously optimistic Maria will not have a significant impact on New England other that rough surf and big waves; however, we should not let our guard down until Maria takes that right hand turn out to sea later next week. High pressure will become the dominant weather feature in the wake of Jose, so we can look forward to a nice weekend to kick off the new season.

As mentioned earlier, a cool front should bring a chance of storms Thursday (and an end to the summer heat), with lingering clouds and some showers behind the front Friday.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy. High: Low-mid 80s.

With any luck, the following weekend will be handsome as we finish out the month.
