WB changes heart: Shadow of War Forthog DLC is now free

The biggest problem was a lack of communication over whether proceeds from DLC sales outside the U.S. would go to the family. Middle-earth: Shadow of War, "the study said".

According to Warner Bros, this Shadow Of War Forthog Orc-Slayer DLC has been made available for free due to legal complications and the confusion surrounding the DLC. This promotion was only promoted in the U.S., which caused many to question what would happen with the profits gained outside the U.S. The team later released an unlucky Tweet, which stated that worldwide earnings wouldn't be donated to the family. In a recently released statement, they claim they always meant to give all the money from the sales to the family, but actually announcing and promoting that outside of the USA "could have triggered compliance obligations or put us in violation of cause marketing laws in some of the 241 territories in which the content was available". Our decision not to promote the donation outside the U.S. Those that have already purchased the DLC will be refunded, and to meet the original intent of the DLC, the publisher will also donate to the family of Michael "4G" Forgey.

The Forthog Orc-Slayer DLC was created by the team at Monolith to immortalize Michael Forgey in-game. Answering that direct question itself could have triggered compliance obligations or put us in violation of cause marketing laws in some of the 241 territories in which the content was available.

The DLC was initially meant to be sold globally, and Warner Bros. stated that all profits would be donated to Forgey's family.

The problem was exacerbated by a tweet which suggested worldwide DLC sales would not have gone to the family, which WB say was incorrect.

Ford To Partner With Lyft Inc. To Test Self-driving Vehicles
The two companies explained on how they would work together to develop and test autonomous vehicles designs and technology. Combining the popular emergence of ride-sharing with self-driving vehicles pinpoints what could be a major future trend.

It continued: "We sincerely apologize to the fans and to the Forgey family for the confusion we created".

In order to make everything right, Warner Bros.is doing two things. The DLC will be removed from the sale and will be a free download to owners. Anyone who has purchased the DLC will receive a full refund.

Originally, the developer planned to donate the proceeds from sales of the DLC character to help Forgey's family, but unfortunately excluded a few states in the process. "If there is interest in donating directly to the family, please visit their youcaring site".
