2 Air Force Commandos Killed During Encounter In Kashmir's Bandipora

Two Air Force Garud commandos and as many terrorists were killed during an encounter in Hajin area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Wednesday, Army said.

Two days before, three Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists were killed in Shopian's Gatipora village in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).

The search operation turned into a gun battle when the militants opened fire on the search party, the police had said, adding that more troops were rushed to the area to prevent the militants from escaping. Recently, the valley has witnessed several encounters.

Last month, one of the oldest surviving militants in the Valley, Abdul Qayoom Najar, was killed on the LoC in Uri.
