Aston Martin has unveiled the lovely 2018 Aston Martin DB11 Volante, which is going to arrive early next year, just in time for the ideal spring weather. More usable rear seats, for the first time with ISOFIX points for child seats, more room, more comfort and more refinement, plus the quality and electronics re-invention ushered in by the DB11, are all evident here.
Purists could be shocked to discover that this drop-top is propelled forward by a V8 rather than a velvety smooth V12, but the eight-cylinder 4-liter twin-turbocharged block in question comes courtesy of Mercedes-AMG.
The V8's power finds its way to the rear wheels by way of an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Say hello to the latest evolution of Aston Martin's iconic convertible sports GT.
Aston Martin says the new auto is 26kg lighter than the old DB9 Volante model, as well as five percent stiffer, to provide a better ride and handling experience. In addition, the new design results in a 20-percent gain in trunk space compared to the outgoing DB9 Volante.
