McGowan's account was suspended Wednesday amidst a tweetstorm against the "Gigli" actor, who she said was well aware of Weinstein's pervy predilections.
"We have been in touch with Ms. McGowan's team", Twitter's chief spokesperson told The Times in an email Thursday.
"I'm so sorry", she said, Farrow wrote in the New Yorker.
While McGowan has avoided addressing her past with Weinstein directly, she has often seemingly referenced it. "Asking for multiple victims of sexual violence" while Arquette tweeted, "@rosemcgowan's twitter account has been suspended. I said I was the proof. He said it hadn't been proven. I had already sold a script I wrote to your studio. When I heard a Weinstein bailout was in the works.
At least one other unnamed woman said she was raped by Weinstein, but the article did not disclose when it where it happened. I was ignored. Deal was done. She further claimed Amazon had "won a dirty Oscar" while "funding rapists". "I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT" you said that to my face. "I love @amazon but there is rot in Hollywood", the actress added.
A McGowan project with Amazon was never officially announced, but McGowan publicly discussed working with the company at an event in September 2016.

The flap over McGowan's suspension came days after Twitter blocked Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn) from promoting a campaign ad about her candidacy for Senate.
In the meantime, Twitter is on the back foot given both the extent of the allegations against Weinstein and the fierce reaction it has provoked in both Hollywood and around the world.
We haven't been able to confirm the details of the tweet that lead to McGowan's suspension, or whose private number she posted, or whether it was in an old tweet or a recent message.
