Police say the violence is not being treated as a terrorist attack and officers are continuing to hunt for the gunman.

Trelleborg has been placed on lockdown by armed cops with reports that at least four people suffered gunshot wounds. The shooting happened in the centre of the city, which is home to around 30,000 inhabitants.

Another neighbour told the newspaper: 'There were many shots.

Police spokesman Fredrik Bratt said: 'We have received several reports of a shooting in Trelleborg.
