CD Projekt Red responds to negative comments from former employees

In a post on NeoGAF, there was a discussion about possibly disgruntled ex-employees of CD Projekt Red airing reasons for their unhappiness on Glassdoor. Moreover, the team revealed that it has doubled its headcount since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and that it is still hiring.

CD Projekt's next game, Cyberpunk 2077, now does not have a release date, and going by this recent statement, it looks like the company is more than willing to take its time. And after some negative reviews on Glassdoor, CD Projekt RED chose to let everyone know about the progress and current status of its cyberpunk title. All feedback on Glassdoor is anonymous, and that makes it hard to verify - but CD Projekt Red and even some more recent reviews are trying to dismiss the negative claims. When we start down the road of creating something, we know the destination and we're sure of one thing: even if something feels impossible, it doesn't mean it is. One review cited "unrealistic virtual deadlines" and "unnecessary crunch", while another went as far as to say that "people who basically hate games are at management positions" and claimed that bullying is common in the office.

Company co-founder Marcin lwinski studio head Adam Badowski said that the studio's approach to making games isn't for everyone. If you make games with a "close enough is good enough' attitude, you end up in a comfort zone". "Since then, we've nearly doubled the headcount and we're still hiring", co-founder Marcin Iwinski and studio head Adam Badowski wrote in a statement shared on Twitter. Since then, we've nearly doubled the headcount and we're still hiring.

In other cases departures can mean a good thing in that the person or people who left from said company accomplished whatever it was that they were contracted to work or needed to cook up, and they were ready to move on to another project. But you know what?

Cyberpunk 2077 won't be released for a couple years, with PCGamesN suggesting a launch by June 2019. Earlier this year, CD Projekt Red acknowledged that early Cyberpunk 2077 files had leaked and were being held for ransom. For Wild Hunt, it wanted to make its first open world game - something the game became renowned for based on its sheer size and depth.

"Cyberpunk 2077 is progressing as planned", reads the statement.

Iwinski, and Badowski closed out the statement by saying that Cyberpunk 2077 is "progressing as planned" but "we are taking our time".

"Every role-playing game we ever developed seemed impossible to achieve at the moment we set out to create it".
