Xiaomi has just announced a new event in India, the company will be hosting an event on November 2. The phone features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, while a 16-megapixel front-facing snapper is also included in this package.
Xiaomi is now the second largest smartphone vendor in India with 17 per cent shares in Q2, according to International Data Corporation's (IDC) Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker report. For now, the only Xiaomi smartphone sold in India that is confirmed to receive the Oreo update before the end of the year is Mi A1. While recent reports had indicated the launch of Redmi Note 5 smartphones, it is unlikely that the company will first launch the device in India.

Consumer protection a must for creation of 'New India': PM Modi
PM Narendra Modi said the concept of consumer protection in India was centuries old. He said GST would usher in a new business culture and benefit consumers.
If one were to hazard a guess as to which smartphone this would be, one could point to the Mi Note 3. He took to Twitter on Thursday, and posted: "Brace yourself, the best selfie smartphone is coming soon!" However, it certainly confirms "a new series is coming". The tweet was followed by the hashtag "YourBestSelfie". The Redmi Note 5A was announced in gold, rose gold and platinum silver color variants in China, so it is possible that all three colors will land in India as well. While not much is known about the popularity of these two phones, the company seems to be looking forward to more launches. However, if Xiaomi manages to outpace Oppo in its most critical USP, there's a good chance the former will significantly extend its lead in the Indian market. If at all the company brings the Mi Note 3 to India, it will sit right between the Mi A1 and Mi Mix 2 in terms of pricing. And now, with a new smartphone, Xiaomi wants to capture the selfie-obsessed specific population in India. The Redmi Note 4 was the best selling smartphone during respective Flipkart and Amazon sales and that it had sold more than 2 million smartphones during sales on both sites this September. The news arrives in a teaser invite we received earlier today via email, with the new lineup set to be unveiled on November 2.
