It is possible Farrow's new investigation will focus on a wider culture of silence protecting the disgraced producer, as questions are raised about whether his alleged harassment was known about by other staff at The Weinstein Company, the business he co-founded in 2005.
An insider claimed that Farrow's upcoming piece might focus on the cult-like atmosphere of Weinstein's former company, which he was sacked from amid sexual harassment and abuse claims earlier this month.
Representatives for Weinstein and The Weinstein Co did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The producer filed the lawsuit on October 26 in a response to a decision made by the remaining board members of The Weinstein Company to fire him for what they called a violation of the organization's code of conduct.
