A party in Denton turned into terror and chaos when the third floor at a student housing complex collapsed, the CBS affiliate in Dallas/Ft.

The Denton fire marshal said there was a party and people at the party were jumping up and down when the floor collapsed onto the second floor. Some people drove themselves to the hospital. They were at the police department reporting the party.

Most of the residents at the Ridge Apartments are OK.

"We've called and said, 'It looks like the ceiling is going to cave in, ' so I feel like with us saying that, there could've been more that was done", she said.

The apartment is at the Ridge at North Texas, a complex that houses students from three schools: University of North Texas, Texas Women's University and North Central Texas College. "Just jumping, the loudest music you could ever imagine".

Denton Police told FOX 4 they have received previous noise complaints, but people have mostly left the party by the time officers arrive.

No one is being allowed back into Building One of the complex tonight.

Reports said that the Denton Fire Departments responded to a report of a fire alarm.

Investigators are working to figure out what caused the structural failure.
