According to a study by the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the odds of suffering cardiac arrest during or soon after sex are very low. Just two of the 34 cardiac arrest patients were female, the findings showed.
"People will ask their doctors if sex increases their risk of sudden death, and we've never had the answer before because there never was a study", said Chugh, the study's senior author and a highly respected expert on sudden cardiac arrest.
There are a lot of unknown variables that could have affected the data-drug use, frequency of sex-but all things considered sex-induced SCA is rare enough that most people shouldn't worry about it.
Recently the Network spread a myth that people with disorders of the heart can't do physical exertion, including sexual activity.
The study hence concludes that 1% of the cardiac arrest happens because of sex in men where the percentage is 0.1% in women. Stay tuned with us for more recent health updates like this.

The safety of sex comes up from time to time with patients who've suffered a heart attack or have been diagnosed with a heart problem, Goldberg and Gulati said.
Looking at the numbers, the researchers concluded that the overall risk of cardiac arrest being triggered by sexual activity was low, and even lower for women. Even though all the cases of SCA the researchers included were brought on by partnered sex-meaning, they were all witnessed by someone-in only one-third of them did that partner attempt CPR.
"By now, there is recognition from a lot of research that if someone is around when you have your cardiac arrest and provides CPR while the ambulance is getting there, it can be potentially lifesaving", Chugh said.
Dr Chugh and his colleagues in California examined hospital records on cases of cardiac arrest in adults between 2002 and 2015 in Portland, Oregon.
