Beverly, who has been eligible to practice with the team, can now take the floor for the Wolfpack in its game against the Bryant Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Beverly will play Tuesday night against Bryant, the school said.

Beverly attended summer school at Ohio State this past summer and then transferred to NC State after former Buckeyes coach Thad Matta was sacked in early June. Wolfpack assistant A.W. Hamilton coached Beverly last season at Hargrave. He last played for Perry County Central as a sophomore, averaging 21.1 points per game. That triggered the designation as an undergraduate transfer instead of an incoming freshman, requiring him to sit this season before having four years of eligibility starting in 2018-19.

"Braxton also appreciates the public support he's received from so many people across the country and the media outlets that have reported on his case", Tompsett said. "Braxton is ready to compete for the NC State Wolfpack!"

Beverly was granted a release from the University after then-head coach of the Buckeyes Thad Matta had been relieved of his coaching duties. But the NCAA twice refused to budge for Beverly, so he hired a lawyer to apply additional pressure on the NCAA. He made a decision to transfer two weeks later with a full release from Ohio State and a letter of endorsement from Matta to the NCAA.

After the NCAA ruled Beverly ineligible, NC State filed two appeals that were swiftly denied.
