Kettle campaign sets ambitious goal

New to the Christmas Kettle campaign this year is a pilot project, which Sadowy is hoping to see rolled out in December, and will allow the option of digital payments at some locations. Pick an angel and drop off their gift by December 6 and the Salvation Army will deliver it to the child by Christmas.

Morning commuters at Newark Penn Station, Hamilton Station, Secaucus Junction and Trenton Transit Center will be treated with The Salvation Army's iconic Red Kettle stands, bell-ringers, volunteers and live music to drive excitement in order to raise $1.9 million during the Red Kettle Campaign.

With the holidays just around the corner, Christmas lights are going up, trees are getting decorated and those unmistakable red kettles are appearing around the city.

"We have 66 opportunities for bell ringers between November 24 and Christmas Eve", Tracy Hebdon, SEICAA coordinator, said. Additionally, The Salvation Army served over one million hot meals statewide past year.

Over the four years, Burger King Hawai'i guests have donated more than $37,000 in support of the program. It's 365 days a year.
