With Perry, Chinese officials reportedly took offense at her wearing a dress with sunflowers on it during a 2015 performance in Taiwan.

The sunflower had been adopted the year before by anti-China protesters in Taiwan, the Post said. However, in Taipei, unlike in Shanghai, Perry also wrapped a Taiwanese flag around her shoulders. Chinese officials told Victoria's Secret not to bring Gigi as a model or the would consider banning the brand, according to MSN.
