Danica Patrick, driver of the #10 Aspen Dental Ford, stands on the grid during qualifying for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series I Love NY 355 at The Glen at Watkins Glen International on August 6, 2017 in Watkins Glen, New York.

Patrick also announced that she'll run both the Daytona 500 and Indy 500 next season, although she has yet to make her plans official with a team. Patrick does not have a NASCAR contract for next season.

Of course, Patrick is no stranger to either event. Her best finish in the standings has been 24th place, which she achieved in both 2015 and 2016.

"That is my plan", Patrick said. I feel like this is where my life should be headed, and sometimes we just get kind of nudged there.

"I feel like I should be doing this", Patrick said after regaining her composure.

Argos Black Friday 2017 deals have been revealed
Amazon UK will launch a week-long Black Friday sales event tomorrow , promising to cut prices on thousands of items. If you don't find what you're looking for on the Friday , there's a chance a great deal is yet to come.

Expect there to be plenty of thought pieces about Patrick and her legacy over the months to come. "I think it's going to be a great way to cap it off".

Patrick did not disclose which team (s) she will join to race in the Daytona 500 and Indianapolis 500, but said she was "down the line" with several teams and an announcement would come later. But I definitely was faced with situations at the beginning of the year that I had never faced before. Let's end it with the Indy 500.

Danica Patrick announces she's retiring from racing. Patrick won one race in 115 starts, finishing in the top 10 in points in six of those seasons.

But this seems right, and this seems good..

Patrick would not reveal who she will drive for in either race next year, but Chip Ganassi Racing is the likely ride at Indy. Patrick was an easy sell for years to sponsors as racing's most visible woman driver. And trust me, I lost my (stuff) a few times over that. "I want to be remembered for the things that went well".
