'Poor man's version of Don King': Trump continues his war of words with LaVar Ball

"If you take somebody's son out of prison, he ought to be grateful", Trump explained.

"Just think LaVar, you could have spent the next 5 to 10 years during Thanksgiving with your son in China, but no National Basketball Association contract to support you".

His son LiAngelo, along with two other UCLA basketball players, were caught shoplifting sunglasses while in the country for a game. LaVar is just a poor man's version of Don King, but without the hair.

President Donald Trump began the day before Thanksgiving on Twitter, calling out those who he claims have not, in fact, given him their proper thanks.

"Who?" LaVar Ball told ESPN on Friday, when asked about Trump's involvement in the matter.

Trump has said he raised the players' detention with Chinese President Xi Jinping during the leaders' recent meeting in Beijing. They believe that he is the LaVar their president has been going in on via Twitter. Don't tell me nothing. Ball appeared on CNN Monday night and insisted that he didn't need to thank the president. Ball told CNN host Chris Cuomo.

As for who had helped free LiAngelo Ball from China, the president said: "IT WAS ME". All three players have been suspended indefinitely from the UCLA basketball team. "I would be surprised if they were even prosecuted". All three apologized for their actions and thanked Trump for his role in securing their release, which occurred while the president was traveling in Asia. "Now if you can go back and say when he was 12 years old he was shoplifting and stealing cars and going wild, then that's a different thing", he said.
