The singer was sent to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy, a spokesperson for Mayer told People magazine. According to the gossip rag, the 40-year-old required an emergency appendectomy.

Platinum-selling rock/pop star John Mayer was rushed to a hospital early December 5.

Dead & Company have postponed tonight's concert in New Orleans after member John Mayer was admitted to the hospital.

As of now, we are yet to know more about the man's medical condition.
