Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement are allied with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria's civil war.

"At half past midnight (2230 GMT Friday), the Israeli enemy fired several surface-to-surface missiles at a military position in Damascus province", the state SANA news agency reported.

Syria's foreign ministry sent officials complaints to the United Nations on Tuesday, demanding action in response to what they claimed were joint Israeli-rebel attacks on military facilities near Damascus in recent days, the official SANA news agency reported.

The report comes two days after Israeli reportedly fired several missiles at an Iranian military base just south of the Syrian capital.
