First Lady Melania Trump and Second Lady Karen Pence on Wednesday visited popular Texas hamburger chain Whataburger while in the state to meet with victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Accompanied by second lady Karen Pence but not the president or vice president, the first lady landed at Corpus Christi International Airport in the morning and met with about 40 military officials and first responders at the hangar.

. They also visited the family's new Manufactured Housing Unit, provided by FEMA, which will serve as the family's temporary residence until they can move into a new, rebuilt home.

Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas in late August as a category 4 storm. But before she left, she stopped by Whataburger to partake in a Texas tradition - Whataburger.

"Mrs. Pence called traveling with Mrs. Trump an honor, adding, "[Trump] comes here to Texas with a caring heart and a true concern and compassion for all those impacted by the storm".

Vice President Mike Pence followed just days later with Texas Governor Greg Abbott, visiting a church in Rockport and even putting on some work gloves to help clear debris.

They will not be the Coastal Bend's first White House visitors since Hurricane Harvey.
