Weather Warnings For Snow and Ice

Met Eireann issue new snow-ice warning for all of Ireland ahead of Storm Caroline battering the country with high winds as wind alerts remain in place

Snow and ice warning for Donegal today

The warning was released this evening after 4pm and is valid until tomorrow, Friday 8 December, at 6pm.

Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo have all been issued with an orange warning from Met √Čireann, the second most severe of the warning systems for conditions with the capacity to "impact significantly" on people in affected areas.

Saturday is expected to be a mostly dry but very cold day with varying cloud and sunny spells.

A Status Yellow snow and ice warning is also in place for the remainder of the country, where accumulations of up to 3cm are expected.
