UFC 220 is on the verge of getting even bigger - literally.
A huge heavyweight title fight is headed to Boston as Stipe Miocic will face Francis Ngannou in the new main event at UFC 220 on January 20 from the TD Garden Arena. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the UFC had yet to make its plans public. It would be Miocic's third defense of the title after beating Overeem and Junior Dos Santos. Another report from MMA Fighting, following MMA Junkie's, is also reporting that Miocic will look to defend the heavyweight title against Ngannou on that date.
Ngannou has won all six of his UFC bouts inside the distance, the latest victory coming last weekend when he needed less than two minutes to overcome former Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem with a spectacular uppercut knockout.
As for Ngannou, he has yet to be beaten under the UFC banner. It was the seventh knockout victory in "The Predator's" young career.

John Lewis Won't Attend Civil Rights Museum Opening Because Trump Is Going
Bernie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, also will not attend, and released a joint statement with Lewis on Thursday. Another person not happy about President Trump's visit is Jackson City Councilman Melvin Priester. "No", Moak said.
Now Ngannou will get his first shot at gold as he faces Miocic in Boston as the new headliner for UFC 220 with light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier taking on Volkan Oezdemir in the co-main event on the card.
This would mark just the fourth time in UFC history that the heavyweight and light heavyweight titles would be at stake on the same card.
It's unclear which of the two title fights would serve as the UFC 220 main event.
