On Tuesday, a BJP delegation met Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala with a memorandum to issue directions to the state government to hand over investigation into the death of Mesta and other workers of Hindutva outfits in the state to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Rubbishing state Home Minister Ramalinga Reddys claim that Mestas death was not mysterious, she said he was ignoring eyewitnesses account that the victims face was blackened.

Mesta (19), hailing from the fisherman community, was reported missing on December 6 before his body was found near a lake in Honnavar in Uttara Kannada district two days later.
Mesta's family and local residents alleged he was abducted and killed amid reports that the body bore marks of attack by sharp objects. The police deny this, and have released a copy of preliminary report by a forensic doctor who conducted the autopsy on December 8 to clarify there were no signs of torture on the body.
