Earlier today, Trump claimed that the deck was stacked against Roy Moore, and that he "was right" to endorse Luther Strange in the primaries for the Alabama senate race.

Democrat Doug Jones beat Moore to win the Senate seat in a stunning victory for his party and a huge political blow to Trump.

The 50-year-old said he hadn't tweeted "in days", nor had he sent any replies. I guess that really does mean that you can't believe everything that you read on the Internet.

"Just woke up to find out someone gained access to my twitter account", the TV host said after the fact. CNN and Cooper say the account was hacked. "Pathetic loser", the tweet from Cooper's account said in a reply to Trump's tweet this morning.

CNN says it's gotten to the bottom of Anderson Cooper's Trump-bashing tweet. and all signs point to a forgetful assistant. 'We are looking into how this happened'.

In a statement Wednesday afternoon, CNN clarified that Cooper did not tweet the message. CNN explained this by tracking the tweet's location to NY, when Cooper was in Washington, D.C.

Twitter users were also quick to ridicule this explanation from CNN.
