"Can't believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife", Page wrote. After Portner posted a video that featured a song by Sylvan Esso, Page sent her a direct message.

The posts also included photos of the newly married couple cuddling and sporting some adorable hats. It came after Ellen's split from her ex-girlfriend Samantha Thomas, who she dated for a year and a half.

It is not known how long the pair have been together but Ellen began sharing picture of Emma, a dance teacher, in the summer of 2017.

"I'm here today because I'm gay, and because maybe I can make a difference", she said during the talk. I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility.

She continued: "I am exhausted of hiding and I am exhausted of lying by omission, I suffered for years because I was scared to be out".

She said: "My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered". I was like, 'Dude, just say you're gay.' For me, it was a great opportunity to be honest, to share certain elements of the pain that I went through.

She explained: "Everything is different".
