'Tiger Zinda Hai' on course to beat 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'

As Taran Adarsh mentions, the movie earned Rs 5.09 crore on Thursday taking its collection to Rs 291.55 crore in two weeks.

The film that stars Katrina Kaif opposite Salman Khan in the lead role has already minted Rs 286.46 crore and is all set to enter Rs 300 crore club. After 15 days, the total collection of the movie after stands at around 298 crores. Despite the protest in Maharashtra, Tiger Zinda Hai continued its solid run. But Jumanji was able to reverse that trend and began its journey in India with double of what Star Wars could earn-- Rs 4.11 crore.

The movie has become Salman's 12th Bollywood venture to enter the much-coveted Rs 100 crore club. Now, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial has crossed the Rs 300 crore mark on its sixteenth day in the theaters. Tiger Zinda Hai is also likely to cross the lifetime business of Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma's Sultan.

Back home, Jumanji proved to be tough competition for Star Wars: Last Jedi by grossing United States dollars 202 million in the domestic market and USD 157 million in the global market, taking the worldwide total to around USD 360 million until January 3. The third spot is now held by Salman's own Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) with Rs86.28 crore.

The movie is the sequel to 2012 film Ek Tha Tiger. There are no big films scheduled to be released in the next week either, which will help the Tiger roar louder.
