Trump's comments came on the same day that warning of future Russian interference in USA elections and chastising Trump for creating "a leadership vacuum" by repeatedly downplaying the issue. Whether in public remarks or on Twitter, the President has repeatedly called the special counsel investigation led by former FBI Director Robert Mueller a "witch hunt", dismissing it as a frivolous investigation launched by his political enemies seeking to delegitimize his 2016 election victory.
"President Trump has said that the investigation into Russian collusion makes our country 'look very bad, ' and he said this morning that 'the world is laughing at our stupidity", one reporter addressed Solberg, referring to a recent tweet by Trump.
Trump and Solberg took questions concerning their North Atlantic Treaty Organisation alliance, economics and energy resources. "Everybody knows it", Trump continued. "It was a Democratic hoax that was brought up as an excuse for losing an election".

"When they have no collusion, and nobody has found any collusion at any level, it seems unlikely you'd even have an interview", Trump pointed out.
The president expressed his willingness to advance peace talks between North and South Korea during a phone call with South Korea's Moon Jae-In Wednesday.
