University of Iowa junior Megan Gustafson has been named to the 2018 JohnR. Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 list.
A 6-2 guard from Norman, Young is one of six freshmen and four Big 12 players to make the top-25 list.
The list will be featured January 11 on ESPN2 at midnight (CT). The Wooden Award is college basketball's most prestigious individual honor.
Young is one of four from the Big 12 and one of five freshmen who are midseason candidates for the award. The leading candidates will be further pared to 20 top players in early February.
With numerous player of the year accolades in the preseason, combined with the fact that Michigan State has been ranked in the top 5 most of the year, it's not much of a surprise that sophomore Miles Bridges made the cut.
