NBA All-Star Game 2018: New Format, Potential Starters & Captains

With the second round of fan returns for the 2018 All-Star voting, LeBron James and Stephen Curry now lead their respective conferences.

Cleveland LeBron James leads all players in the voting, bringing in 1.6 million.

James has 1,622,838 votes and filling up the top three frontcourt players in the East are Antetokounmpo (1,480,954) and Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid (784,287).

Curry leads Western Conference players with 1,369,658 votes, while Durant is right behind him with 1,326,059 in the latest update, per Slater.

The fan vote makes up 50 percent of the overall vote for the All-Star Game, which is scheduled February 18 in Los Angeles. The Houston Rockets' James Harden has 978,540 votes and the Oklahoma City Thunder's Russell Westbrook 791,332.

Previously, players voted to the All-Star roster simply played in a conference matchup, but a new All-Star format has two team captains from a list of players and have them either start or be alternates. We are also nearly close to the All-Star game which will take place on February 18th, 2018 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles California. The captains will be the All-Star starter from each conference who receives the most fan votes in his conference. Starters will be announced on Thursday, Jan. 18 during TNT NBA Tip-Off at 5 p.m. CT. For the last two frontcourt spots, I chose Anthony Davis who is now second in frontcourt voting and Pual George. Voting stops on Monday, January 15th so make sure you vote for your favorite players.

One through four are Golden State's Kevin Durant, New Orleans' Anthony Davis, Golden State's Draymond Green and New Orleans' DeMarcus Cousins.
