Netflix reveals NSFW trailer for The End of the F***ing World

TEOTFW is an adaptation of a 2013 graphic novel of the same name by Charles Forsman, which explored themes of alienation, sociopathy, young love and young rebellion, albeit in a bracing and unconventional way.

I know we're meant to focus on James' (Alex Lawther) sociopathic tendencies, but Jessica Barden's Alyssa is clearly the trailer standout. He has "a penchant for harming himself and animals". Cold and emotionally detached James, played by Black Mirror's Alex Lawther, definitely isn't your average leading man, which he confirms while discussing his plans to hopefully murder someone soon (typical mundane teen activity, NBD).

He then meets up with the emotionally disturbed Alyssa, whom he initially intends to kill, but ultimately becomes attracted to. As they start their new journey, things turn wary and worse. Based on this trailer, The End of the F***ing World looks like the beginnings of a lovely relationship.
