Numerous police agencies from Wisconsin and IL are responding to an incident involving a Greyhound bus. Illinois State Police said about 40 passengers got off the bus safely, a police statement said.
Our sister station WMAQ-TV in Chicago reports that there was a pursuit of a bus in Wisconsin, and troopers responded once it crossed into IL.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office says a man with a gun was reported on the bus.
According to the release, police received a call around 10 p.m. about a disorderly person who was possibly armed.
Lanes remain closed while the investigation continues. About 50 people on the bus were removed and eventually brought to Chicago, the Greyhound spokesperson said.
Authorities evacuated all the passengers to safety and no injuries were reported, officials said.
Multiple agencies are at the scene responding to the incident.
The incident led to a full freeway closure of southbound I-94 at Highway 50 in Kenosha County.
