"Her heart wants to be with them, but they can not keep her", the humane society posted on Facebook.

A dog in Oklahoma who was given up for adoption missed her owners so much that she trekked almost 20 miles to try and locate them.

After her family moved to a new home in the Oklahoma city of Seminole, they decided the couldn't keep Cathleen, a 6-year-old Great Pyrenees mix, and gave her to someone living in Prague, a little less than 20 miles away, according to KOCO.

The family couldn't take Cathleen to the new house so they had to put her up for adoption.

Tottenham Hotspur make enquiry to sign Lucas Moura in cut price deal

Cathleen has traveled TWICE from Prague (about a 20 mile trip) and returned to her family in Seminole. "She may seem shy at first but will open up to you, definitely". She is humble, kind and passive.

She was left with a friend in Prague, Oklahoma while an animal shelter tried to find her a new owner.

The shelter is hoping that by sharing her story they can find Cathleen a new home that she'll enjoy. Sweet and loves food. Cathleen has a calm temperament and wouldn't hurt a fly. Marta Mattingly, the treasurer of the Seminole Humane Society, said she lives three blocks from Cathleen's original owners and saw the dog wandering the neighborhood multiple times after the owners sent their pet to Prague.

Not once, but twice the determined pooch set off from the home in search of her previous owners 32 kilometres away.
