A 23-year-old man will re-appear in court on January 31 after he was charged with the murder of the 21-year-old cousin of the Barbados born global singer, Rihanna, last month. It was in February that Rihanna's cousin had posted a warm message under a photo of Rihanna and himself captioning it as "celebrating the singer's 29th birthday".

Rihanna also shared a video on Instagram showing Alleyne smiling and telling the camera, "It's nice to wake up and see all of your brothers and sisters".

A man was arrested and charged with fatally shooting Rihanna's cousin in Barbados last week, according to local reports. They were 23 gun-related murders previous year.

'I never thought the day would come that I would have to bury you my love, omggg!' Tanella wrote.

As for what happened on that fateful day, it's believed that Rihanna's cousin, Alleyne, was walking through a track near his home at Lakes Close, Eden Lodge, St Michael, when he was approached by a man (Williams) who shot him multiple times, then fled the scene.

A St Michael man has been remanded to Her Majesty's Prison Dodds in connection with the shooting death on Boxing Day of the cousin of Barbadian superstar Rihanna.

Alleyne's murder was the last murder recorded for Barbados for 2017 and it brought the year's total to 30. Tavon was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados where he was pronounced dead.

His sister, Tanella, also posted a photo of herself with Alleyne at the hospital, putting an emoji of an angel over his face.

They had just spent Christmas together.
