After a Wild Card Weekend full of shocks, the group are all locked together on four points, with John Part and Shaun Gayle knocked out after tallying only two points - the Saints, and Jaguars, respectively, their only successful picks. Home teams are in all caps.
The Giants can't wait forever to see what will happen in New England, so a Patriots' loss would speed up their search for a new coach. Ticket sales are divided equally, and although there would invariably be a Vikings' bias, the Super Bowl is largely a media and corporate event.
Like the Bills last weekend, there's a strong chance the Titans could slip into the "just glad to be here" mindset and lose by a touchdown or more. The next round features match ups that will result in entertaining football.
Dec 31, 2017; Foxborough, MA, USA; New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (12) during the first quarter against the New York Jets at Gillette Stadium. They ran for 208 yards in that game and will have to focus on a similar offensive approach this time around as well. I also had the Los Angeles Rams beating out the Atlanta Falcons (28-24) yet it seems that the Rams have yet to take that next step. And no, Foles hasn't inspired any confidence since replacing Carson Wentz as the starter in Week 15. Foles is completing just 56.4 percent of his passes and is averaging only 5.3 yards per attempt. The defensive side of the ball is probably where this game will be decided. The Eagles have limped home down the stretch on the (lack of) strength in the arm of Nick Foles. Expect Atlanta to return to the NFC Championship for the second-straight year with a 20-10 win.
Given the Jaguars' elite defense and Pittsburgh's inconsistent offense, Jacksonville actually has decent odds at pulling off an upset this week. But I just have a good feeling about this Saints team. Antonio Brown is still banged up and the Jaguars are getting a ton of points in our teaser. No one will confuse Jacksonville's offense for a high-flying attack, but the Jaguars quietly have the league's sixth-besttotal offense and theNFL's best rushing attack. Both times the #1 defense covered, including the Jaguars' 30-9 Week 5 win in Pittsburgh that's sure to boost their confidence. That mark has fallen to 4.8 per rush in the last three games.
'Tide Pod Challenge' potentially deadly for kids, teens
Poison Control reports in 2017, more than 10,000 children were treated after being exposed to the pods. The challenge involves eating Tide laundry pods, either raw or cooked in unusual and elaborate ways.
Baylor's Matt Rhule interviewed with Colts for head coaching gig
Rhule has previous coaching experience in the National Football League as the New York Giants' offensive line coach back in 2012. The Indianapolis Colts aren't leaving any stone unturned in an attempt to replace the recently fired Chuck Pagano at head coach.
Syrian government defends Idlib campaign, condemns France
Backed by Russian strikes, Syrian government forces have escalated military operations against Eastern Ghouta in recent months. Already host to 3 million refugees from the six-year-old conflict, Turkey fears a further influx across its border from Idlib.
In the AFC, the Patriots are the clear favorites at 4/7, while the Steelers have the second-best odds at 9/4. I believe that the Saints are a team that can manage the game clock better. Meanwhile, the Saints are 1-6 all time on the road in the playoffs. This is a top-two defense in the league in almost every category. The Saints are more balanced this season, ranking fourth in scoring offense and 10th in scoring defense.
It has been a rough road for the old Levackster this season but like the light at the end of every tunnel and the calm after every storm things will get better! I have little confidence in Blake Bortles and unless he shows up at Heinz Field, I doubt the Jaguars will be able to manage with Leonard Fournette powering the offense alone. This team also is chirping already about playing New England again, which can't sit well with Jacksonville. This might be the most even matchup of all four Divisional round games in the NFL Playoffs 2018.
The Wild Card games are set to have four teams that are big favorites over the teams they are playing.
When it comes to identifying the top dogs on this weekend's betting board, the notion of the NFL being a quarterback-driven league goes head-to-head with the adage that defense wins championships.
