Her death was announced via Twitter on Friday morning, with a message posted to her official account by loved ones. "My lawyer is already working on this and this person who wants to spoil my happiness is going to pay for it!"

Earlier we reported that the Rebekah Shelton, star of Big Brother in 2009 had died, it turns out, thankfully, that she is alive and well and living in Dubai.

They added: "We ask that you respect the family's privacy at this time".

Trans Big Brother star Rebekah Shelton is not dead, as she confirms in a video she was a victim of hacking.

Rebekah, formerly Rodrigo, on series 10 of Big Brother.

"This person can't accept that I am happy and finally overcame all of my problems and I am finally living my life happy. I'm on holiday, I'm in Arabia, and I'm NOT DEAD".

On the show, she said: "I regretted it as soon as I had it".

Rebekah went on to say that she is now on holidays.

While the tweet said that Shelton died "unexpectedly", the cause of death was not revealed.

The transgender star also admitted that transition was emotionally exhausting and shared her advice.

Of being abandoned after undergoing surgery, she said: "I wanted to kill myself, it was a nightmare".

"I'm so sorry", replied one Twitter user.

But a year ago, the reality star admitted she was struggling to cope with the huge transition because she felt isolated.

She hit the headlines for an on/off relationship with co-star Charlie Drummond in the Big Brother house. "We haven't spoken for six months because I've made a decision to leave, but that was the turning point".

She appeared on ITV show Judge Rinder in 2016 to confront a woman she was accusing of obsessive stalking, and spoke about her long and painful journey to self-acceptance.

"I am the happiest I've ever been in myself, but I lost so much along the way", she told OK! magazine at the time.
