The Falcons are led by quarterback Matt Ryan and wide receiver Julio Jones. Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman each chipped in this one, yet it was Coleman who rushed the ball far more effectively against Jim Schwartz' defense.
The Eagles cut it to 10-9 with 1 second left in the half.
But this is a different team from those in the past. "Every team has their pros and cons but the cons list for every team is going to be short this time of year".
Despite being the first No. 1 seed to be a home underdog in the divisional round, the Eagles received three field goals from rookie kicker Jake Elliott, a 1-yard touchdown run by LeGarrette Blount and ultimately a 15-10 victory over the Atlanta Falcons Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.
In fact, the only real damage the Eagles did was to themselves.
The Eagles frankly were lucky to only be trailing 10-9 at halftime. Instead of going for it, they chose the safe route and three more points. They were shut out in the second half and held to just 118 yards in the final two quarters.
Ominous portends came early.

Conte admits previous attempt to sign Sanchez
I am focused on Liverpool . "I understand completely this question, I understand you are doing your job, but you know my answer". He said: "Very good - unbelievable facilities, the prince's private facilities are better than any football club in the world".
Atlanta's running game was spotty against the Eagles, too. It didn't take long for Ryan to begin carving up the Eagles' defense.
The Falcons inched closer in the final seconds, and faced a fourth and goal from a few yards away.
Nick Foles recovered a fumble two plays later and initially had a touchdown, but then a review showed he was down at the 1.
Neither side found the end zone in the third quarter, but Elliott once again nailed a kick, this time from 37 yards, to give the Eagles their first lead of the game.
When asked about leading the Eagles to a playoff victory after everyone (read: definitely me) thought he couldn't do it, Foles said, "It's a really humbling feeling". It was the template of what the Eagles needed to do to win.
Foles heated up after a poor first half, but the Eagles settled for field goals after two long drives in the second half. Foles had fumbled the ball in a handoff to Corey Clement and was aware enough to jump on the loose ball at the Atlanta one-yard line. Foles' very bad overthrow should have easily been picked, but Neal mistimed the ball and it caromed off his knee and right into the hands of Eagles receiver Torrey Smith for a fluky 20-yard gain. A botched handoff between Foles and Corey Clement nearly blew it, but Foles did leap on the loose ball at the Atlanta one-yard line to retain possession.
Blount ran in Philly's only touchdown of the game in the second quarter as they went for it on 4th and Goal early in the second quarter. Elliotts missed extra point left it 6-3.
