Thus obviously enough "The Wall" is going to cost a true fortune for anyone with enough space to actually fit the damn thing in their home comfortably.
-Panasonic/AFP Relaxnews picLAS VEGAS, Jan 13 - With spectacular designs, bigger screens, richer colours and sharper image quality, TVs once again took centre stage at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, notably driven by innovation from LG and Samsung.
At achieving this latter PR stunt, The Wall succeeds wonderfully.
It wouldn't be Consumer Electronics Show, better known as CES, without a new crop of impressive televisions.
So what exactly are these other technologies?
The other really unusual technology was Samsung's MicroLED technology. This is the heart and soul of the new Wall TV from the company and Samsung is promising that it will be part of the "screen of the future". Not because we don't want to, but because Samsung simply isn't ready to reveal that information.
The proprietary LG OLED technology is designed to deliver perfect blacks thanks to its ability to turn each pixel on or completely off
Instead of the more conventional LED, plasma, OLED technology, or Samsung's own QLED, the Wall is the first consumer TV to use MicroLED.
Photos of The Wall at CES are posted below. You can make it larger or smaller without compromising performance. The name of the TV itself, however, is entirely appropriate: The Wall. Thus, this beast of a television can also get incredibly bright, much more so than OLED, managing up to over 2000 nits according to its makers.
LG OLED technology has created a new high-end category of displays that delivers an awe-inspiring picture with ideal blacks and incredible color, even from wide viewing angles, unlike any LCD/LED display.
Perhaps the only real competitor when it comes to size are projection TVs. At 146 inches of diagonal screen size, The Wall is nearly as big as most average walls, with its dimensions measuring in at 10 feet wide and 6 feet tall.
This MicroLED technology is said to be a better alternative to OLED because it offers both deep blacks and bright highlights. OLED reached 270,000 shipment units in November as falling prices pushed the sweet spot purchases around 55-inches and above, offering genuine UHD and 4K down into the budget range...
