"You're a pathetic monster that is only sorry you got caught", she said.

One victim, Olympic bronze medallist Jamie Dantzscher, described Nassar as "pure evil" in her statement.

Meanwhile, the Michigan State News, MSU's student newspaper, had a front-page editorial Thursday calling on Simon to resign and the state lawmakers who represent East Lansing also made that call, joining previous demands for Simon to step down.

Nassar said in the letter that he passed out twice before his federal sentencing on child pornography charges, which got him 60 years in prison. Otherwise, the judge said, knock off "writing this mumbo-jumbo".

She previously hosted a syndicated radio talk show called "Ask the Family Lawyer", according to her online biography.

Nassar could be sentenced Friday. MSU apparently did nothing to stop Nassar or even seriously investigate the charges, in part because of his stature in USA Gymnastics.
