Razer has plans to release a second phone somewhere in 2018

Are you impressed with the firm's first stab at a flagship smartphone?

The Razer Phone only launched in November past year but talk is already turning to the Razer Phone 2, which could apparently land in September.

Razer showed a new concept at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 that turns Razer Phone into a laptop. It seems that Razer wants to listen to its fans as reports are pointing towards Project Linda becoming a reality, albeit with the next generation Razer Phone.

Razer briefed the press on Proejct Linda at the trade show, describing it as having the body of the Blade Stealth, RGB-lit keyboard and all, but without the trackpad - that would be where the Android-based Razer Phone would slot in and it would also be where launcher software from Sentio would take over. The report highlights that the company might launch Project Linda laptop dock alongside its second smartphone.

Have you snapped up a Razer Phone? Meanwhile the 8GB RAM and Snapdragon 835 SoC provided heaps of power.

Our own Max Parker, who attended CES wrote: "Razer is known for using CES for showcasing concept products that never make it onto shelves - but it certainly seems like one of the most well-rounded "lapdocks" I've seen so far".

A Razer Phone sequel could be a chance for the company to improve these areas however, and, according to recent speculation, we might just get one at the next IFA. Otherwise, it won't be a worthy successor of the current model. It combines the company's Razer Phone, a mobile device with high-refresh rate display and a gargantuan battery, with a laptop dock. These configurations deliver an awesome gaming experience on the smartphone. The brand's CEO Min-Liang Tan recently offered up a hint at a positive outcome a few days ago via his Twitter account, so fingers crossed.
