Samsung is launching a limited edition Galaxy Note 8 Winter Olympics Edition, similar to the earlier iterations of the limited edition phones.

The organizer estimates around 200,000 units of telecommunication devices will be brought to the venues by athlete delegations, journalists and broadcasters throughout the events.

The organizers of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics said Thursday they are operating a special team of technicians managing radio-spectrum issues at venues to avoid interference of wireless devices and ensure accurate tracking of records.

"The PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games Limited Edition will feature celebratory pre-loaded PyeongChang 2018 themed wallpapers, allowing recipients to stay connected in-style through Samsung's most advanced mobile technology".

All the Paralympic athletes will also get Olympic themed cases for their new phones from Samsung.

Samsung didn't announce any plans to sell this special edition Galaxy Note8 to the general public. Furthermore, it is adorned with a gold Olympics logo and gold rings as inspired by the Olympics Torch. It features a Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM, and of course, an S Pen stylus. The fingerprint sensor sits at the back of the device right next to the dual-cameras. The company - a partner of the Olympic Games - previously gave a special-edition of its Galaxy S7 Edge phone to athletes competing in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. On the front is an 8MP camera with an f/1.7 aperture and captures 4K videos at 30 FPS.
