Comedy legend Ken Dodd dies in United Kingdom aged 90

The veteran comic was knighted in honour of his decades-long showbiz career and charity work in March a year ago.

His carefully guarded private life received an unwelcome airing in 1989 when he endured a five-week trial accused of tax fraud.
